“Le Blockathon de la Musique” supported by Safe Creative

SafeCreative is supporting “Le Blockathon de la Musique” (https://le-blockathon-de-la-musique.squarespace.com) that takes place from 29 April to 1 May in Cologne, being the opener for c/o pop convention. hack.institute and ContentSphere invite coders and musicians as well as other creatives from the entire music ecosystem to join the Blockathon. The challenges focus on the intersection between music, metadata, blockchain, artificial intelligence and big data, including new business models and re-designed workflows.

Apart from than a collaboration of coders and musicians, the Blockathon will see teams from GEMA and SACEM, and people from Jamahook, Fraunhofer IDMT and Technoport Luxembourg competing and collaborating with other participants. 10 mentors from a variety of fields such as coding, composing, law, blockchain, metadata, music industry and performing music will be guiding and advising the teams. A jury of Becky Brook (JAAK), Claudia Jericho (CREATIVE.NRW) and Xavier Costaz (SACEM) are to pick the three most innovative and artist-oriented solutions, while there will also be an online audience voting.
